My Story 📖

"I can't want you to succeed more than you do." -Tim GunnReflecting on the chapters of my storied career in the learning & development field, I am grateful to have done a little bit of everything: instructional design, e-learning, facilitation, coaching, project management, and LMS administration. If you had asked me what I would be doing after college, I never would have imagined that the plot twist early on in my career story would be that I would become a Talent Development Practitioner. I feel very fortunate to love what I do.After graduating from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse with a BA in Public Relations, I worked in a call center as a retail customer service representative. One day, the training manager asked me if I would be interested in helping her onboard new seasonal customer service representatives. Hesitantly, I agreed, and that's how I "accidentally" became a trainer. And the rest, as they say, is history!Over the years, I have led training and employee onboarding and development in a variety of industries including non-profit, financial, manufacturing, and recruitment. Some highlights of my successes have been:
⭐ Creating and delivering personalized, engaging learning programs, courses, and materials with key stakeholder input, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals
⭐ Collaborating across teams to lead change management initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning, resulting in increased efficiency and technology adoption
⭐ Analyzing data and evaluating outcomes to improve learning initiatives, ensuring job relevancy and maximum ROI
L&D has become a true passion of mine over the years, and I have honed my skills in consulting & business partnering, organizational development, data analysis, and performance improvement--all of which have contributed to my achievement of the pinnacle certification in the talent development field from the Association for Talent Development (ATD): the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD). Within the last few years, I have found my way to an amazing community of talent development professionals at the ATD Nashville Chapter and the global organization, ATD.I am currently seeking my next full-time remote or hybrid (in the greater Nashville area) opportunity with an organization that has a people-first culture, is mission driven, and is focused on innovation and growth. I am passionate about helping others and making an impact through designing, developing, and delivering training that drives organizational success. My extensive experience in the training field translates to being a well-rounded training professional who deeply understands how essential people are to ensuring the success of the organization. Please reach out to me if you are looking to add a results-driven senior Talent Development Practitioner to your team!

ATD Experience❤️

Volunteering with ATD is at the heart of what I do as a talent development practitioner. I am actively involved with my local chapter, ATD Nashville, as well as the national organization, the Association for Talent Development.

I earned the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), which is the pinnacle professional achievement in the talent development field in December 2024. It is broad and measures a practitioner’s knowledge and skill application across the breadth of talent development capabilities, and demonstrates my commitment to a world that works better.I also earned the Managing in Talent Development Certificate in December 2024, which covers the foundational skills and competencies of a new talent development manager.

I currently serve as President-Elect of the Association for Talent Development Nashville chapter board where I help coordinate long-range plans for the chapter. Our mission is to empower professionals in the greater Nashville area to develop their knowledge and skills. I previously served on the board as Vice President of Conferences.

I am a volunteer on the Association for Talent Development's Chapter Recognition Committee, which identifies, recognizes, and shares the best practices of all ATD chapters.

As a voracious reader, I am thrilled to have reviewed the book Mindmasters by Sandra Matz for ATD's award-winning monthly TD Magazine that covers industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends. The article appeared in the February 2025 issue.
